This is a very beautiful park that puts you in the middle of nature. When we checked in, the Ranger was extremely courteous and made sure we knew to let them know if we had any problem whatsoever. We noticed them making regular patrols throughout the evening although the park was very quiet and peaceful. The site we occupied was asphalt and level. The utility hookups were well placed near the center of the site and easily accessed. The shower house was clean as was the restrooms. The sites are shaded by tall trees and very well kept. We would stay here again.
This park is a pleasant place to spend a night or two. To stay many more than that you would have to enjoy continuous road noise. Inside the rv with everything closed it wasn't bad. It became very annoying during the short time we spent outside grilling. The I-26 off ramp that runs along the side of the park generates most of the noise. If you use a satellite, ask for a space next to the highway. The new concrete pads along the river are level while most of the ones on the highway side slope down slightly from the rear. The WIFI signals were strong and the tv cable service was clear with lots of channel selections. However, our cable outlet did not work and we had to connect with our next door neighbors. Most of the cable outlets have 3 way splitters so this isn't a problem if you have a long enough co-ax. The voltage at our space metered out 119 volts. We never saw any loiterers and at no time did we feel apprehensive about our security. Our stay here was pleasant and reasonable with the Passport America rate. We would stay here again.
This RV campground is a very clean campground with level sites. We stayed in a pull through space that was level and had a nice surface of small white gravel. Utililties were well placed at each site and the electricity metered out at 114.9 volts. Picnic tables are at each site and the grassy areas well trimmed. The WIFI signal was iffy with periods of good signal, then no signal for a while. Our satellite picked up the signal perfectly. If you utilize a satellite, let them know as a lot of the sites have large shade trees. The restrooms and showers were clean and trash receptacles handy at the end of each row. Our stay was pleasant, although the park security guy patrolling on the golf cart was paranoid about anyone driving over 10mph. I was told three times to slow it down by this "camper cop" when I wasn't going any faster than the 10 mph posted speed limit in the park. It was the only negative we experienced while we were camped here. We enjoyed the park but probably won't stay here again because of the "speed nazi".
This campground is located close to everything in the area. We found it to be easy in and out with no really tight turns. We enjoyed our space (E6) as it had lots of tall trees and was shaded throughout the day. The asphalt pad was approximately 80 feet long and level with no slope to either side or front to back. While our site was not conducive to satellite reception due to the trees, other sites we noticed were available with few or no trees, some of them near the water. Our site had very clear cable TV hookup with 60 (+/-)channels. The WI-FI signal was strong although some camped at the water's edge under the hill could not pick it up. The two shower locations were very clean as were the restrooms. The campground was filled to capacity, yet was very quiet after 10pm. We would stay there again and have secured reservations two weeks away for a concert in their on-site music hall.
This campground is a nice, no frills place to stay. We arrived and found the gentleman in the office to be very courteous and helpful. The office is stocked with some essentials to save a trip to town for incidentals. We were directed to a pull-thru at the very top of the last row (#50) and found it asphalt surfaced and very level. We noticed other sites that would be difficult to access with a bigger unit, some of them short and sloping enough that would give problems in leveling. Satellite reception is an iffy proposition as most sites are shaded by tall trees. Free WIFI is availble although the signal was weak at our site, but it did work. The tv cable signal was very clear with 36 channels, most of them good ones. There is a $3 charge per day for the tv cable connection. The water/sewer/electric hookups seemed well placed for most units. Picnic tables and fire rings were at each site. There is a swimming pool and childrens play area with playground equipment, both appeared to be well maintained. There was an abundance of permanent residents, but most of their sites were well kept and the campground was quiet with nobody loitering that we noticed. I would have given the park a higher rating had the cable connection been free. We would stay at this campground again.
